Zemi Beach House, LXR Hotels & Resorts

We would go back to Zemi in a heartbeat. The beach is unreal, the food was all delicious, great drinks at reasonable prices, the rooms were huge and clean. We were in a garden view king and we’re surprised even that room has a nice ocean view from the patio. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. We loved the fact there were plenty of chairs at both the pool and beach even though the hotel was sold out over new years holiday. One thing to mention is the hotel is built on a bill so there is quite a steep walk back to the room if you are in building 3 like we were. Would highly recommend Zemi to anyone.

Zemi would have gotten 5/5 if it weren't for a few things that detracted a bit. First, the good. The resort is beautiful and the beach area and pools are amazing. This is easily the most beautiful Hilton resort I have ever been to. The breakfast restaurant is in the perfect location and it was so nice to have breakfast on the beach. Our room was very large and even though it was garden view, the view was beautiful of the adult pool, the grounds and in the distance, the ocean. The beds were comfy and the shower/bath were great. The gym is very decent for a hotel and the little lap pool is great if you want to swim some laps. The setting couldn't be better. People rave about the service and I found it to be a mixed bag. The lady who serviced the room was lovely and efficient and did an outstanding job. The front lobby team was responsive and very good as well. The staff in the restaurants were hit-and-miss though. We waited every morning for a table for breakfast while they had to set things up. They always seemed very put out having to add 2 place settings to the tables that were set up for 2. Orders were forgotten and were very slow, and some of the serving staff seemed very annoyed to have to bring out drinks that we ordered. It was a bit strange. Other serving people were so great, so it is really just a mixed bag. The other annoying thing was that when we checked in our room wasn't ready (we were a little early but they also knew we would be there around 3:15 and to make it great, the room would ideally be ready). Still, that is fine. What was odd is that the bellman took us on a tour of the resort which really just meant that he took us directly to the restaurant and seated us, so we were expected to get food or drinks. I would have far preferred just being left alone to lounge by the pool, but he was very clear what we should sit and order something. Or was 3:30 pm. We didn't want anything so got some fries and another snacky thing. $50 later our room was ready. The food at 20 knots was expensive and very average. The food 100 yards up the beach at Gwen's was much better, and a little less expensive (with the same view). Actually the food away from the hotel was much better than at the hotel. Blanchards is fantastic. We just did the Blanchards shack and it was the best food we had on the island. Gwens is also fantastic and worth the little stroll up the beach. The people at Gwens are also the nicest we encountered on the island- super relaxed and happy. None of the "bad" things were really bad. They were just a bit off and unfortunate for a place that could very easily be perfect. The hotel itself is incredible and most of the staff is too. Just a few oddities.

I don’t arrive at Zemi until next Saturday & already their customer service has blown me away. They made all my dinner reservations. Answered my questions promptly. Inquired about arrival & transportation. Starting like this…. Wow. Will let you know how the trip goes.

My friend and I were having a late lunch at Zemi. A gentleman, who I later found out to be the Assistant General Manager passed, met my eyes and continued walking without a greeting. What compounded his dismissive attitude was the fact that I raised his poor hospitality behavior with the server who I saw speaking with him. He again looked at me, dismissed me and moved on. Hospitality 101 was definitely lost on this gentleman and he should expect the same behavior from his staff. Where do they find these people who cannot extend a simple greeting to guests. While this may not seem major to some, it tells me alot about the quality of service I will get from a property.

The resort and service were spectacular, however I wasn’t pleased about the major loud construction noise all day, every day. There’s a large construction project taking place on the adjacent property. The constant noise lasted from appropriately 9am - 4pm weekdays. The side of the resort opposite the construction site was best area to stay for muffling the noise. I may return because the resort and staff were great. But I wouldn’t stay there unless I could confirm construction was completed. I’m shocked no one has mentioned this in any of the reviews I’ve read.

The Zemi Beach House is by far the nicest resort we have ever stayed at. The View is spectacular. Beach is pristine.No reason to eat off property the food is exceptional. The staff was so helpful. Prior to arrival Janelle helped organize everything for us. Ferry to booking dinners.Was so happy to meet her. Always with a smile and ready to answer any questions. Managers on site and friendly to everyone. The spa is worth the visit.We both had 2 massages each. We are going again this November and counting the days.If I could i would give higher than 5STAR.

Excellent resort with a staff that makes the place outstanding! Spent 11 days and everything was up to standards! Very quiet end of the island so if you’re looking for a lot of activity it’s probably not for you. But if you just want a beautiful spot on the ocean to relax and be spoiled this is your place! Staff is what takes it over the top there out too do whatever they can to make you comfortable and meet your needs! We ate most meals at resort and were very pleased. Breakfast is unbelievable with a buffet that has everything imaginable! Again the staff is incredible remembering your name and anything special you had before. Pool staff has your chairs and water right when you hit the beach!

We stayed at Zemi for 8 nights at the end of February. When visiting Caribbean, we typically stay at the upscale adults-only, all-inclusive resorts, but this time decided to try something different and off the beaten path. Transfers: We flew to St. Maarten and asked Zemi to arrange transfers to Anguilla and the resort, which was organized very well. We were a little nervous about the transfers, but it was flawless. Boat transfer is $85pp and taxi from the ferry terminal to the resort is $35. On our way back home, we flew from Anguilla airport (AXA) to Philly with a stop in Miami. Room: We booked a Tropical view room, but as Hilton Diamond members, we were upgraded to the Ocean view room, which was definitely appreciated. We got a corner room on the 2nd floor of bldg 2, which worked great for us. The room was big with high ceilings and lots of space, 2 separate closets and big bathroom (see my pictures). The resort is situated kind of uphill from the beach, but our bldg 2 was not much of a climb at all. Resort: The grounds are gorgeous; main pool is heated (very warm water) and looking towards the beach but is relatively small (at least as compared to the huge pools we are accustomed to in adults-only all-inclusives), and there is no swim-up bar. While we were there, it was mostly used by kids and their parents. It was not an issue for us at all, because we are "beach" people and mostly sit on the beach, rather than at the pools while in the Caribbean resorts. But if you are expecting a pool scene like in the adults-only all-inclusives, you will not find it here. They do have "Adult-only" pool, which is located in the middle of the resort with no view in front of it; water not heated; it was very quiet and almost private (we never saw more than 2 couples there at the same time). If you want to relax with a book or really craving peace and quiet, this could be a good choice. Beach: Shoal Bay East is absolutely breathtaking; the water is exceptionally clear and takes many different shades of aqua/turquoise depending on the light. Such a feast for the eyes!! When we were there the water was comfortably warm for swimming with no sargassum. Some days it was calm enough for actually swimming, other days waves were pretty big, so we were just jumping waves. They have plenty of beach loungers on the beach, which are very soft and comfortable (usually resorts have these only at the pools); beach attendants set them up for you and can even add a 2nd sun umbrella for additional protection from the sun if you ask. We did visit Rendezvous beach on the opposite side of the island and Aurora resort, and while it was good and the sea there was very calm, we both agreed that we would definitely prefer Shoal Bay and Zemi if we returned to Anguilla. Restaurants/Food/Entertainment: Food is of very good quality; their casual restaurant "20 Knots" is right on the beach - we had breakfast buffet there every morning with literally toes in the sand and less

Zemi was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. We flew into St Maarten and took the Calypso ferry over to Anguilla. It was an easy process. As a Diamond member, we were upgraded to an ocean view room. It was a very nice room with a huge bathroom. It had a large shower and also an outdoor shower. We had nightly turndown with bottled water and cookies. The bed was a bit hard for me but that’s just personal choice. The staff at this hotel really make it! We didn’t encounter anyone that wasn’t pleasant. Stacy remembered us and our names from day 1. Princess at the Bohio bar was awesome and made great drinks. We ate at Stone 3 nights because it was that good and had six entirely different meals. Sven, the restaurants manager, always remembered us and was so grateful we came back. Breakfast was included and it had a nice selection of food with an omelette station. We walked down the beach everyday to a different beach bar for lunch. The beach is amazing! The water is very wavy but fun to play in. The guys down at the beach who help get your chairs and waters were always so nice and helpful. They will also get you food and drinks if you wish. I had a massage at the spa which was truly a great massage. Usually you just get an oily back rub at hotels but this was great! Sumi was amazing. No question we would love to return to this hotel!
