Moxy Banff resulted from a 30 million dollar makeover of Banff’s first commercial motor hotel, The Voyager Inn, originally constructed in 1964. Moxy Banff is a bold mid-century design anchored in the centre by Bar Moxy and flanked on both sides by expansive rundle stone walls and unique precast guest wings that float over the parkades. The guest experience starts with a trip back in time as you enter the hotel to check in at Bar Moxy. Lit by an upside-down bear wearing headphones, the check-in experience sets the tone for the fun ahead as every guest receives a complimentary cocktail. Stayed here with my family through a rainy weekend in May during my daughters dance competition at the nearby Fenlands venue. Great new hotel, with a fantastic concept. An open trendy lounge / bar / quick eats cantina that looks like a VW food truck. The service was fantastic - lots to keep the kids amused (books, games, hot tub, pool), and a superbly equipped king size room with mountain views and a four bunk beds. My daughter commented that it’s the best hotel she’s stayed in - primarily because it was so different and fun. The bar adapted mocktails for the children, and made some lovely drinks to order. A great weekend - would definitely recommend.

A very expensive hostel clearly designed for the woke mob. If this is your scene and you have (someone else's) money to waste this is the place for you. There was a burlesque show downstairs (May 18) but could only guess what type of show it was. Not even coffee in the room - this is NOT Marriott.
