1202 Motor Inn

Rita is the best! She totally saved us from sleeping in the truck. Clean, warm room. Friendliest people we have encountered. We arrived late and they left us a note with directions. Keep in mind this is the Yukon. If you are looking for the Hilton go back to the lower 48 lol. Safe area. Remember the Yukon is remote and life is different here.

The room was very comfortable with nice furnishings. Was worried how cold it was going to be at night but the host/manager Rita Luxton assured us the room will be nice and cozy. Even putting an extra electric space heater which turned out to be not needed but was a great gesture. The staff were extremely friendly and knew a lot of the history of the territory. I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed at the 1202 motor inn. Absolutely loved it. Amazingly friendly staff. Large selection of good foods. Peaceful nights sleep, comfortable clean rooms. Highly recommend staying at the 1202 motor inn.

I booked to stay two nights in Beaver Creek where the 1202 Motor Inn is located. We arrived at approx 6 in the evening and when I registered I advised them we would likely be staying only one night. The young man advised that we would have to pay a cancellation fee which I expected. The next morning when I checked out, the woman working the front counter advised the cancellation fee was the entire cost of one night’s stay. It does not say this on the booking confirmation or on their website. They billed me for two nights. Today, when I made a follow-up phone call I was told that is the way they have done it for 30 years and basically said ‘too bad, so sad’. I was given the owner’s email address. I would suggest people consider this accommodation seriously before you book. The room we were given was in a run down trailer, the bending touched the floor, it was dark and the lamp didn’t even have a light bulb. It definitely did not resemble the pretty little room on their website. Another thing we were told is that they were the only place in town to find something to eat and that we could buy a cold sandwich. Buckshot Betty’s was shut down and Ida’s Motel didn’t have a licence for years. I went to Ida’s and found the motel clean, neat, friendly and very much licenced. I enjoyed Ida’s very much and wish I would have booked there. She showed me her rooms and in the new building, the rooms are totally lovely.

We are on our way from Minnesota to Eagle River Alaska. My husband found this gem in Beaver Creek Yukon! Room 17 is wonderful! It is not big but it has charm. Wooden logs, up north decor, and perfect for a couple! We had a few beers in the restaurant/bar and Ryan couldn’t have been better!! Picked up a couple of souvenirs and pie for tomorrow morning’s drive. Great stop!!

THE WORST MOTEL EVER. IT WAS FILTHY, ancient AND THE INTERNET DIDN'T WORK. The good reviews must be fake. Also, the worst mosquito invasion, including inside. The hostess makes up any excuses why the internet doesn't work. Skip this hotel.

This is for the RV park, not the motel! Would strongly advise against staying at the RV park at the 1202 Motor Inn. Online it said first come, first serve but there was also an option to make reservations. I made the reservation because we have a 43 ft fifth wheel and we can’t get into just anywhere. Got here yesterday and the lady at the desk said oh we don’t do reservations, just go find a spot. There was no sense of order, one person had their camper in one spot then their truck parked in the spot right in front of them, fully blocking both sites. We find somewhere we can squeeze into and get everything hooked/set up. As soon as I start the microwave the power goes out. Nothing would fix it outside, even tripping the breaker. The people next to us left before this even happened because they didn’t have power at their post either. Husband goes in to ask the employee if there was anyone available to come look at it and see if they knew any tricks to get it to work. He only got a shrug. He said ok we are going to have to move down here and stick into the road a little bit. Again another shrug and “oh so you are just wanting to move spots then?” Well, yes because we don’t have a choice. At the new site when running the microwave, the voltage reading on the post was only 103 volts! The water pressure at the fill up site was very low too, tank barely had anything in it after running for 20 min. And all this is on top of the large amounts of trash in both sites. If passing through the area I would recommend dry camping at a rest area for free since none of the services are great here.

Used my debit card to buy snacks at a gas station with a small store and restaurant. 10 minutes later my card was hit with a large bogus purchase of cosmetics. We were headed to Alaska, so my bank called us and we were able to cancel compromised debit card. If headed into Canada our bank would not have been able to let us know.
