We were unaware when booking, but the hotel is under renovation construction and while our room was newly renovated, there was active construction (noise) on our floor and throughout the entire building including the normal entrance. We were relegated to park in an attached parking garage in order to enter the building and then go up to the 2nd floor to a room temporarily converted to an office to check in. After arriving, we were told that there was no way to get hot water in the room for tea but we could get some from the 2nd floor as opposed to anyone bringing an electric kettle or the hot water up to us. This was puzzling to me as they state that there is “room service” from the attached restaurant, Chandlers. Also, our room was completely renovated, but the shower floor was cracked and worn and perhaps “recycled”. The shower head only extends approximately five inches further than the shower knob and falls directly down (like a rain shower head) so one’s body is forced to stand on the broken part of the shower and against the shower knob to actually be under the water stream even though the shower is practically six feet long (a walk in) very poor design. Also, the single use toiletries hadn’t been replaced from the last guest. Both the body lotion and the little box that included qtips were clearly used.On the positive side: the mattress and pillows were comfortable, linens were clean and plentiful, and the room had two comfortable robes. We will not be staying here again.
