Quality Inn & Suites I-35 E/Walnut Hill

I'm sorry to say, but I was very disappointed with my stay here. I was working nearby, out at 7 AM and back by 6 PM each day. The property and location were fine. The exterior is relatively new. The lobby was okay, but filled with shipping boxes containing knock-down new furniture. It's good that room furniture is getting upgraded, but leaving everything scattered in the lobby was not attractive at all. The disappointments: - The hotel website still says breakfast included, but the breakfast room was closed with a sign that said due to Covid-19. That is understandable, although some places at least put out a Continental-style breakfast without open food containers. And Covid started over two years ago - enough time to update a website. - My room coffee maker was missing the pod tray, so the front clerk said he'd get a replacement sent up. Nope. The next morning I had to bring the coffee maker downstairs, and waited while the clerk went and got another one for me. - The sign in the room showed that towels and linens would be changed every third day for water conservation reasons. That is fine. But it says nothing about no housekeeping service to empty trash, vacuum, replenish coffee-maker goods, cups, etc. Okay, so be it. However, no one showed up on the third day for anything. That evening I went down to the front desk - the clerk said he'd write a note for the morning staff about it. The fourth day, I stopped by the front desk at 7 AM to make sure that the clerk knew about it. His shift was ending and he said he'd make sure the day person knew. That evening I discovered that no one showed up again. I went to the front desk and let the clerk know. His response was "I wrote them a note, that's all I could do." And the next morning was my checkout. So no housekeeping service for the whole week. - I would have been able to call the front desk about these issues, especially since I was on the 4th floor - except the room phone did not work. After notifying the desk clerk 3 times, I just gave up on that one. Although every person I talked to was very nice, It would have been nice if anyone actually cared about any issues.

Shower was cold and bathroom was a bit dirty. The beds were quite hard, but the price was right and staff friendly.

The hotel needs minor updates to make it look clean. Newer curtains without stains. The lamp shade had stains all around it. The doors to the rooms had several screws in them...like they drilled 8 screws in the door. They only give you a few towels. Other than that the bed slept well. It's just it needs updating.

Toilet set was broke. Sink fixture was extremely loose. Bathroom sink would only run with hot water! No cold water.,

I love staying here because its peaceful but it is still close enough to the highway for easy access to everything. The staff is always very accommodating and pleasant and given the area they maintain a very peaceful atmosphere.

The jacuzzi tub was nice, and for the price it was what you would expect.

So I have never reviewed a hotel before, I am not nitpicky at all when it comes to my stays. As long as my room is clean and I can take a hot shower I am usually comfortable. I got none of that with this hotel, and felt I should mention it. My room was dingy, dated, and felt unclean. The wall next to the coffee pot had what definitely was mold growing all over it. The bathroom door could not be closed/locked. The shower curtain was barely attached to the wall, and could not be situated in a way that actually held the shower curtain up. That didn't end up mattering as I couldn't even take a shower to begin with - either low water pressure, the clearly broken shower head, or a combination of those two pretty much made showering impossible. If you are considering this hotel because its great proximity to Club Colette do not bother. A sign as the front desk says "no guests allowed", which seems like a poor business strategy given the clientele this hotel attracts. Apparently it is well known for this kind of quality, as conversations with many at Club Colette lead to multiple other testimonies of similar stays. This is the kind of hotel that you would expect to get bed bugs from. Do yourself a favor and look into the La Quinta down the street.

This has to be the quietest hotel I've ever stayed at. The man who text me in was polite, property was clean. The only thing I will say is the breakfast was not over the top. The waffle maker is cute it's a shape of Texas and tasted fresh but there were no other hot items and I saw toast no bagels or muffins. The cereal was okay too. But if you're looking somewhere quiet to go and sleep I heard no other guess at any time and other people were in the building.
