Check in took an hour but the hotel was clean. We enjoyed our stay.

This is a fantastic hotel. A great location, nice rooms (a little small but its an old building). The staff are outstanding, so friendly and accommodating. The cooked breakfast is absolutely delicious and try the masala omelette - first class. Highly recommend.

This is a great hotel with delightlful, friendly staff. The only isse one needs to watch out for is the appalling noise in the front rooms from The Chapel night club opposite on a Friday and Saturday night (the club goes on making its terrible dine, with loud bass banging "music", till about 3am on those nights) and noise caused by banging doors in the vicinity of the car park entrance in the early morning.

The hotel will not be open till 2024 due to the hurricanes. I had paid in full prior to arrival only to find out the hotel IS CLOSED UNTIL 2024. We did receive a refund, but had to locate another hotel. It was a 3 star hotel and the price was doubled.

We found the ‘super-king’ room to be difficult to access (third floor without a lift) and very little different to the standard rooms. We had expected a room similar to that advertised on the website and this was not the case.

hotel very good, room clean and well kept, bathroom clean and well kept. The new fish restaurant (Nani)exceptional, the selection of food was fantastic, lobster, octopus squid and king prawns all well presented..

I had booked and paid for this hotel in advance of our trip to Ireland and the UK. I couldn’t be more pleased with the friendliness and level of support from everyone from the kitchen to the Pub, restaurant and housekeeping. This hotel is certainly one I would stay at again if I found myself in the area. You won’t be sorry for choosing the Merchant House Hotel.

Don’t risk losing your money! I booked with them in September 2022 for March 2023 spring break. Just a few weeks before the trip, they canceled my reservation. I never received my reimbursement. I have had to open multiple tickets with ******* and I still don’t have my reimbursement over 4 weeks later. This is what I was told: “Hello ******* Traveler, It is with sadness that we alert you the Plaza Resort and Spa has sustained significant damage from Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Nicole. We have been informed the Resort will not be open in time for your visit to Daytona Beach. Your reservation has been cancelled and you will be fully refunded within 5-7 business days. We thank you for your understanding during this very difficult time for our former staff and our regular guests. We hope to be open in a year and hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back. Thank you, Plaza Resort & Spa.” No reimbursement received. Terrible experience.

We had booked for the Daytona 500, but were unable to go due to a death in the family. We canceled TWO WEEKS before arrival date which was more than enough time to get our $500 deposit back. We still have not received the deposit and either no one answers the phone or I get hung up on after a few rings. The two detailed messages I managed to leave have not been answered.
