Stayed here for BVB V Rangers game. Perfect location to the stadium. 2 minute walk across the road. Not many places for eating nearby but underground was only a few stops away from city centre. We walked it to the city centre and took around 45mins. Hotel was nice and clean. Receptionist very welcoming. Room was nice but unfortunately just 2 beds pushed together so it’s annoying when they seperate Didn’t get to use the restaurant but note you need 2 vaccines + booster or 2 vaccines and negative test to eat in the restaurant. They have a fridge at reception offering snacks, drinks and alcohol. Around €30 euro for taxi to/from dortmund airport. Would definitely stay again!

Very comfortably situated next to the fair grounds, so could leave the car at the hotel and walk up. Free parking until 12 hours after arrival.
Good breakfast buffet. Fast and stable WiFi internet.
Unfortunately limited restaurants at walking distance, but Strobel had perfect dishes and they accept credit cards. ( in German restaurants an adventure sometimes )

Hotel is closely located to the Messe Dortmund and surrounded by a park and easily accessible by the underground railway. Rooms are a bit outdated and small but clean and also had a small fridge. Staff was ok but could’ve been friendlier. They initially told me that our booking didn’t include breakfast which turned out to be wrong after we’ve approached them again a bit later at the reception after having double-checked our booking confirmation. Our room was on the lower floors and directly facing the parking lot which was quiet noisy due to the small parking lot and people try to get in and out with their car. Also, no room service is offered (if one wants to eat, the only option is to go down to the restaurant and get a table). For a four star hotel and the money per night, we would've definitely expected more in terms of standard and service.

The beds are horrible two tiny beds squashed together with a tiny heavy comforter that makes you sweat like a pig falls off if turn over I complained to staff their answer this German style beds cannot do anything. No sleep 3 days glad to move out.

The location is right next to the fair which was convenient. On the other side of the hotel was a small nice garden and it was close to two bigger gardens which were nice. Other than that there wasn't much to do in walking distance.
The hotel was okay, but definitely needs some updating. The pillows and sheets in the rooms were very old and iffy. The bar and pool were closed, the restaurant was open but there was no atmosphere there. No background music, nothing. It also wasn't possible to pay with card in the restaurant. We encountered this problem at multiple locations during our stay in Dortmund. It was like we were back in the 80s and paying with card was still strange or something.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel was pretty good though. It wasn't a bad hotel, but from Mercure and for the price I expected more. (260 euros for 2 nights with breakfast)
