My husband and I stayed here on vacation upon a friend's recommendation that this was the best hotel in town. After staying here, it would be sad for Erie if this is the best they have to offer.
When we arrived, we were greeted with supply boxes in the entryway blocking the brochure display of things to do in the area. Then the front desk made us sign a contract (that was never disclosed before we arrived and our friends who are straight never even seen, let alone had to sign). It stated that we would be charged an extra $200/night if we held a party in our room. The front desk also offered us no copies of this contract after we signed it - which is always suspicious.
We got up to our room and inspected it immediately. Luckily, there are no bed bugs we could find but you can smell the whiffs of mold throughout the building.
Two of our towels had stains on them that any cleaning staff should have seen. The shower had tons of ********** all over the walls and floor of the shower so it was obvious our room wasn't cleaned in quite some time.
Overall, this place feels like it just gets away with things because it's next door to Splash Lagoon. THEY DO EVERYTHING AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE. They give you one bar of soap, one roll of 1-ply toilet paper for the weekend, some stained towels, a crappy breakfast (pun very much intended), and a room with a policy of having no parties - unless you're a straight couple with kids, in which case, feel free to scream until 12:30 AM.
