The Hillside House is located within a short walk (15-20mins) from the main part of Friday Harbor and the room we stayed in (Parisian) was comfortable and charming. The best part of the B&B are the hosts - very friendly and welcoming. They provided excellent recommendations and options. Also Nick, makes amazing breakfasts and is very accommodating to needs. Would definitely return if given the opportunity.

We stayed here for two nights. We had a lovely room with a king bed; the "Captain's Room," it was decorated with a nautical theme. We loved the comfy window seat which looked out at the trees. You can relax on the beautiful deck which overlooks the harbor. The owners are very nice, and their son, Nic, is the chef who makes the delicous breakfasts!

We had a wonderful time during our long weekend stay here. The breakfast was very tasty and the conversations warm and friendly. The family really wants you to enjoy the visit not only in their lovely B&B but in Friday Harbor in general. We got wonderful tips on what to do. The rooms are very comfortable and we slept so well!! Thank you to the lovely hosts. We do highly recommend staying in this place, and if we ever visit the island again this would definitely be our destination again.

We travel regularly and prefer B&Bs, wherever we've been around the world. The Hillside House rates up among the best we've visited. Why is that? Well, like so many B&Bs, it's run by a family. Thus family is very personable and make you feel like you are part of their family. Next, breakfast is all made by the creative mind of Nick (our host), from local fresh ingredients. Souffles, breads, muffins, all yum! Also, this is a spacious house with lots of room to spread out. A wrap around porch gives extensive views of the harbor. Peaceful neighborhood. Comfy beds. Games and books in case you didn't bring your own. We woukd return to Friday Harbor just to visit with our hosts!

Beautiful house, quiet, relaxing, convenient, great breakfast every day. We stayed an extra night just for the relaxing time. The innkeepers were very helpful in dealing with our schedule changes. The house is a short walk from central Friday Harbor.

As a home owner, I couldn't help but be blown away by how pristinely maintained this large, hillside home is. The owners have been in the B&B business for decades and know how to make you feel welcome. But what is most welcoming is the absolutely delicious home-cooked free breakfast. Eggs and bacon? Forget about it. How about a spicy mini-omellete soothed by a fruit compote? How about eating that out the deck on a beautiful sunny morning? How about doing this with coffee from a pot that never goes empty or cold? Staying here is the opposite of corporation-owned lodging. It is unique, personal...and tasty.

Nick was a wonderful host! Very welcoming and knowledgable of the island. He provided great recommendations of things to do. Our breakfast both mornings were delicious and seemed thoughtfully planned. I slept great both nights as well, our room was unique and cozy. I hope to return some day!

Cutest bed and breakfast ever. Well this was my first experience staying in a bed and breakfast and it would be VERY hard to top it! We only stayed one night and we were not in the house very much… But it was so beautiful. Our room was so comfortable and clean! I felt very comfortable here. I wish I had the chance to stay for breakfast and spend a little more time at the home. I really loved it. And the cookies were so delicious!

We stayed here the night before and the night after our San Juan Islands weekend kayak camping trip. Nick was a wonderfully gracious host. He kept our extra luggage for us which really simplified things. The breakfasts were probably the best I've ever had in a B&B and I stay at a lot of B&B's. Everything homemade using fresh ingredients. I would stay again just for the breakfast. It was not too far out of town so we were able to walk to/from dinner, although others may prefer to drive/taxi. The outdoor deck was lovely for relaxing and reading.
