Good room but needs a small fridge for travellers coming to stay for a while

Not one friendly face throughout our stay. Live entertainment twice told by staff member to sing lower whilst actually singing and this at pre 22.00 hours.
Free car parking and walkable for an average person into the town.
Cleaners left hand written notes on the bed on things cleaned and changed after previous occupants left. Reception uninterested in this scenario and became rather stroppy when informed.
Will not be returning as we are embarrassed we took friends there.

Lovely stay, free parking which is rare in Harrogate. Nice stroll into town. Breakfast was served hot and was plentiful. No ques despite having 4 coaches in when we stayed. Our room was big, clean and well positioned. Lovely old building with some nice features. Staff all very pleasant. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Greeted with a friendly face and directed to reception. It’s a massive hotel old but clean and interesting. Our room 333 over looking the back of the hotel green lawn. The only thing I wasn’t keen on was the tea making facilities, which were polostrine cups like takeaway ones. Maybe from Covid, and the tea milk and sugar in a tied up bag, no tray. But later on we ordered sandwiches from the bar and he said that he could get them to our room if we wanted to rather than wait in the bar for them. That’s when I asked for a real cup and he said that he would send two up with our sandwiches. Nothing is to much trouble, I would and will be staying here again.

The building had a lot of character. With the high ceilings and open reception area, it was very grand and welcoming.
The stairs and hallway were nice and wide and there was a lift available. The room was well set up, with adequate space.
Our stay was at the beginning of January. There was a lot of condensation on the windows which meant you couldn't see out of them.
The wall between our room and one next to it seemed paper thin. Our neighbours were just talking normally late into the night but the sound reverberated into our room as though they were there with us. This meant we didn't get to sleep till the early hours. The next morning whilst their room was being cleaned, a glance into it revealed that both headboards were against the same wall.
Breakfast was great with good options. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and professional.
All in all we had a good stay which could have been better with being able to get to sleep earlier.

This hotel would have been absolutely breathtaking in its time. It has some stunning original, Victorian features. However, this hotel requires a large amount of money spending on it. The decor is dated and tired. That being said, there was plenty of parking and the hotel was easily within walking distance of Harrogate town centre. For this reason, I believe that the hotel deserves a 3* rating. It’s such a shame that a hotel which would once have been so grand has been allowed to fall into a state of disrepair. I do hope that the owners find the money to spend on this historic building.

The room was alright, although a little tired, threadbare carpet in two places, wallpaper starting to peel. This did not detract from the very enjoyable stay.
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.
The food was ok, the evening meal a little overpriced but tasted nice.
We would stay again but not eat in the evening. There are lots of places to eat in Harrogate, which did not take long to walk to.
