Just returned from a week at the Swiss Inn Resort, Hurghada. Once we'd negotiated the Visa process at the airport the private transfer was smooth. We were welcomed at the hotel after 10pm by friendly, helpful staff. We were taken to our room by golf buggy by Haytham who was very helpful and drove us back to the main building so we could get something to eat and get our bearings. The Resort is split over two sites on opposite sides of the road. Location seemed to be fairly quiet with other hotels around. A few local shops along main road but mainly selling souvenirs, T-shirts and soft drinks. We were located on the site with rooms arranged in villa buildings surrounded by beautifully kept grounds (thanks to gardener Mohamed and his colleagues). This site is only a short walk to the main building with the buffet restaurant and bar. Italian, and Sushi restaurant in main building. Lebanese, Seafood and Burger restaurants sited near beach. Villa area is quieter and has a small pool area with some umbrellas and sunbeds which could do with updating. A larger pool and more for kids to do is on main resort site which goes down to the beach. Our room was a good size and had everything we wanted. Comfortable double bed and additional single bed. Shower room; water pressure not great but adequate. Basic toiletries provided. Storage space adequate. Iron and ironing board stored in wardrobe. Safe in wardrobe. Hairdryer. Tea, Nescafe and drinking water topped up daily. Laundry service if required. Mini fridge in room. A/C not very effective. Room housekeeping staff very helpful and towel arrangments a lovely touch. Everywhere was kept very clean. We had a small balcony with 2 chairs and coffee table, and small drying rack attached to the wall for wet clothes. WiFi not available in rooms in villas and poor strength even in main building which can be frustrating. No lift available in our villa building so rooms on first floor would be inaccessible to anyone with mobility issues. We had an all inclusive package which was great as we didn't see any local restaurants around. Restaurant table staff (as opposed to serving staff) were very friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. Buffet was nice but becomes rather repetitive after a while. Selection of meat and vegetable dishes and salads available. Fruits and cakes always present. Illogical wine rules; can be ordered by the glass with meals as part of the all inclusive package but if you order wine at the bar downstairs you have to pay. Staff here are exceptional and very hard working. Bar staff member, Amr, deserves a special mention and was a great example of front of house staff dealing efficiently with guests of different nationalities with kindness and good humour. Some evening entertainment was available mainly in the bar area but seating area limited and not adequate for the number of guests. Book shelf available on first floor where you can take and leave read books. Small pharmacy available on s
