Astron Hotel

Enjoyed our week in April 2024. On the harbour front - lovely views when eating hearty breakfast. Beds were comfy. Additional covers and pillows available. Greek TV channels (fun watching Shrek in Greek)! Air conditioning worked great. Shower bit dated - needed repairing twice during our stay. Room was clean and offered a mini fridge and complimentary coffee/tea. Pool was freezing!! Nice poolside area - Look out for resident tortoises and cat!

This hotel is a little gem right on the harbour-front in Kos town. It is basic, but very clean and comfortable. The staff are so welcoming and genuine. Air-con in all the rooms too. The pool terrace at the back is great. Very private. Not a massive size, and not a lot of sunbeds .. but there always seems to be enough to go around. The pool has a waterfall spout and water jets, and there is a separate kiddy pool and a cool (but not cold) whirlpool as well. Despite being right at the harbour the hotel is very peaceful and tranquil, especially around the pool. It only offers B&B, but there is a good selection available for breakfast, and sitting on the front terrace watching the comings and goings in the harbour is a real pleasure to start the day. This was our second stay at the Astron, and we’ll be back. Special mention for William at reception who made us very welcome on arrival having remembered us from the year before. Also for Katerina who looks after the terrace bar, and Jenny at the pool bar. They all work hard to make sure we have drinks and snacks during the day, and with a smile. I really shouldn’t be writing this review because I want to keep it a secret all to myself ❤️

We stayed on the harbour at the Hotel Astron. The hotel is in a great position, but the rooms are dated. I would say they are recently decorated, air con, fridge, no safe, but safe in reception that you pay for. Pool, bar and basic breakfast. It's in a lovely position across from the harbour so it's very close to everything, the ancient sites, bars and restaurants. We requested a room with a shower due to a disability. The shower room was old style, needed a refurb. The drain in the floor was repaired twice whilst we were there, it kept falling through the floor leaving a hole so we had to cover it with a stool incase one of us caught our foot in it! I'd requested a accessible shower, but it had a high shower tray, about 6 inch high. No hand rail so I felt unsafe and it had a nylon shower curtain which allowed the floor to flood. We were told at hotel check in they were full and realised there was no chance of changing rooms.I suspect they knew the room wasn't ideal for people with disabilities. Later I noticed as we walked along the corridor past other open rooms doors that they all looked much better than ours. Think we drew the short straw! I wouldn't stay here again.

I stayed at the Astron for a week and couldn’t fault it at all. It is located right on the harbour and the bar and breakfast area both share the lovely view of the harbour and castle. Everything in Kos Town is in easy walking distance and there are loads of tavernas and fish restaurants nearby. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and everything was fresh. The bar was friendly and comfortable to sit in at night and the pool bar was open all pool hours with a good choice of drinks. All the staff were super friendly. I was always greeted with a friendly smile and everyone was really helpful and offered advice about transport and directions to places I wanted to visit. Very chilled place to stay and comfortable for a solo traveler. I will definitely stay there again if go back to Kos.

Lovely hotel in an amazing position on the harbour. A stones throw to all the bars and restaurants. Nice hotel bar with an amazing view. Beautiful pool. Large for the centre of town. Staff so friendly especially the young lady at the pool snack bar. Good breakfast included. Just 4 hot items but loads of continental choices. We had room at the back overlooking the pool. Room was spacious enough. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice , friendly welcome at reception on arrival and even though we were earlier than normal check in time we were given all 4 sets of room keys so could go straight up to rooms . Rooms could do with a bit of renovation but were clean , have TV , hairdryer and also kettle with coffee /tea sachets for use & small fridge , balcony overlooked the lovely swimming pool area . Breakfast very good with plenty of choice and self service coffee / tea & juice machines . Breakfast room and bar have lovely seating area overlooking harbour . This hotel is in a great spot , close to ferry port , near harbour and all that Kos Town has to offer . We would definitely return to this hotel .

We used this hotel daily. William Alexander on reception daily was really friendly and welcoming. We visited every day and he greeted us warmly even though we were staying at the hotel next door. We also chatted to a very helpful snack bar lady with blonde hair who passed the time of day with you. She was always smiling and wanting to chat. Such excellent facilities which were shared willingly. The pool was not heated but I swam in it every day. My sister just dipped her toes.

3rd to year to kos first time in astron hotel we choose it price was amazing and perfect location ,Arrived first night the lobby and the bar and seating area on the terrace over looking the harbour is lovely ,but the rooms was such a disappointment very old and dated ,the bathroom is so small only one person can go in there at a time ,when you sit on the toilet your knees touch the bath and the sink is at the side of you very very old bathroom the shower was over the bath ,they had filled in holes in our bath defo needs refurbishment, first night couldn’t find any pug sockets there was only one which a kettle was plugged into so had to unplug that to put our extension lead so good job we took extension lead with plenty of sockets to charge out phoned etc never stayed anywhere that only has one pug socket we were baffled ,the back door was broke first nite when we got there couldn’t close it had to tell reception straight away so had to sleep first night with our door not being fully closed but fixed it following day ,we were on ground floor over looking the pool the balcony very small with small table and 2 chairs but the air con unit was same level so was very warm when you sat on balcony because it blew hot air out of it ,and our room and our friends room next door had a lot of ants ,had to ask reception for ant spray we came back one day the dressing table was full of them all up the walls behind the fridge had to shake my cloths and bag that I left on the chair they were everywhere ,one nite made mistake of leaving a little drop of tea in my cup before I went to sleep woke up following morning my husband said must have been over 100 ants in the cup so couldn’t eat or leave cups out in our room and sprayed the room everyday before we went out ,when we first seen the beds we laughed we thought these beds are going to be awful but surprisingly they were ok and the pillows ,no English channels on the tv . Breakfast weren’t up to much there was meats ,cheese , tomatoes, cucumber ,natural yogurt, tinned peaches ,melon ,honey , jam ,cold boiled eggs , hot food was scrabbled eggs, mushroom and Fryed eggs every other day was either little tinned cocktail sausage or streaky bacon but nobody would put the lid back on the hot food which annoyed me so much we had bacon rolls twice but bacon was cold ,,they had 2 cereals ,bread rolls apples and oranges in fruit bowl and tea and coffe machine and juice machine ,we would go breakfast area every morning between 7-7.30 have a cupper look overlooking the harbour which we loved but only ate there about 2-3 times there was NO TOASTER !we would have been happy with toast and jam they really need to invest in a toaster, we ended up going to sun burned arms nearly everyday for full English ,pool area was lovely but could do with new beds ,cleaners only changed out bedding once in 2 wks ,we hired a car so we was never there we would be out from 9-6 so for the price we payed for 2 wks I would stay again as its

Hi honest review of the hotel .Check in good staff pleasant and helpful .Room was clean had a fridge kettle cups Bathroom clean had a bath which was great with shower attachment .some rooms bathrooms weren't good talking to others staying in hotel .clean towels every day .one big fault my room balcony was way too small pics will follow of the rooms .pool was OK run sunbed wars I always got one As its only bed and breakfast food could have been better buns brown thick bread French toast 2 cerals cornflakes coca pop musiel dried prunes dried apricots tea/coffee machine water apple juice and not so nice orange juice fried egg scrambled egg which was cold then either mushrooms little hot dog sausage then nxt day mushrooms or bacon with the above eggs again tinned peaches watermelon plain yogurt ham hard boiled eggs cheese tomatoes cucumber. NO TOASTER .But on the plus side the location is brilliant rite on the harbour not really a 3 star I would say 2 star .it needs updating would I stay here again I'm not sure. But for the price I paid it wast bad air con was included in price if you go don't stay in room 211 cos of the size of the balcony hope this helps you
