Hotel Quinta Real

Had a bad experience with restaurant staff which was resolved by the overall English speaking manageress with the American accent. But on the return journey from utila, I have one night stay booked today with breakfast included. However since my flight is very early I will miss the breakfast I have already paid for so asked if I can use my voucher today since breakfast is being served. The staff are totally inflexible however and said it can only be used tomorrow, even though the restaurant won’t be open when I leave. And unfortunately it’s the Spanish speaking stuff that don’t seem to have any concept of sense about the matter. The English speaking staff at least understand the situation but are not allowed to do anything about it. Make sure you speak to the overall English speaking manageress who is based at reception if she is on shift. Also from the first stay when I had to complain about the restaurant service, the staff just ignore me, especially those wearing waistcoats. The Honduran waiter with the white shirt however speaks little English and was very helpful. Note: It’s only the morning staff up until 2pm in the restaurant that this applies to. Pero en el viaje de regreso desde utila, tengo reservada una noche de estadía hoy con desayuno incluido. Sin embargo, dado que mi vuelo es muy temprano, perderé el desayuno que ya pagué, así que pregunté si puedo usar mi cupón hoy ya que se sirve el desayuno. Sin embargo, el personal es totalmente inflexible y dijo que solo se puede usar mañana, aunque el restaurante no estará abierto cuando me vaya. Y desafortunadamente son las cosas de habla hispana las que no parecen tener ningún concepto de sentido sobre el asunto. El personal de habla inglesa al menos comprende la situación, pero no se le permite hacer nada al respecto. Asegúrese de hablar con la directora general de habla inglesa que se encuentra en la recepción si está de turno. También desde la primera estadía cuando tuve que quejarme del servicio del restaurante, el personal simplemente me ignoró, especialmente los que llevaban chalecos. Sin embargo, el camarero hondureño con la camisa blanca habla poco inglés y fue muy servicial. Nota: Solo se aplica al personal de la mañana hasta las 2:00 p. m. en el restaurante.

We can’t give a 5 because we had some issues at the hotel during our stay. In the same room you get Wifi if you go in the bathroom no Wifi AC failure and we had to relocated 3 times. We booked 3 weeks before over the phone, we called 4 days prior travel and surprised that we was not booked. We booked again. Upon arriving they send us to a room we was not book and paid for. We paid for sea view but we couldn’t see the sea. Besides inconveniences we had a great time. Ricardo was one of the best bellman and Sarai at the front desk was over helpful from the booking to the correct room. She is doing a perfect job. In the kitchen, Mr Osvaldo and Milton was the best. Overall, everyone doing a good job, we just name a few.

There was little to no help from the hotel in arranging tours or rentals of any kind. I had just come from Roatan so I was expecting a bit more service-wise. It was a nice enough property, but the beach is more so for looking than for swimming, as the water is polluted and a dark grayish brown until you go out about 40+ yards. I blame poor infrastructure, not the beautiful people of La Ceiba. This was a nice place to sleep and they did have a capable restaurant and decently priced drinks and menu items, so that was good. Again, I'd give it a 3.5, maybe a 4 if the wifi worked. I went to La Palaypa, a restaurant literally across the street from the hotel and had better wifi service there than in my room. They should invest in some kind of range booster for their wifi. Also, the satellite went out for several hours during my last night, so there was no functional tv, which wasn't a huge deal, but still...

This hotel is ok. It’s on the beach - not a spectacular beach but it’s clean and safe for all ages - and it’s in a safe area of the city. The outdoor bar closes at 9pm and don’t expect to be serviced by any staff in the terrace after that time. In theory there is waiter service but in reality it’s non existent. If you want to eat and drink after 9pm go next door to the restaurant that’s cheaper and employees waiting staff. It’s a 30 second walk.

We tried to book 2 room directly with the hotel. After numerous emails and 4 days later not confirming we booked through a third party app. At check in we were given to 2 worst rooms in the hotel. Rooms 106 and 108 are unrenovated, smell like mold, bathroom moldy with holes in the walls, behind the pool waterfall (noisy) and with a view of the pool mechanicals. Bathroom mirror was so goofed up you couldn’t see. We were told the hotel was full and they couldn’t change our rooms our interpreter spoke to the desk staff and explained what organization we are with (we book a lot of rooms at this hotel) and suddenly they had 2 rooms that were remodeled (poorly) on the second floor. This is known as the best hotel in La Ceiba and it’s not saying much. The pool was green with algae slime on the bottom. Garbage is on the beach with unburied chain link fencing to help prevent shore erosion. I cut my leg on a piece of the exposed fencing. As I was checking out they were changing the air filters in the room. I included a picture. Disgusting that is what we were breathing. This hotel could be nice if the staff actually cleaned it up.

The restaurant La Vela at the outside, of the Hotel, has very poor service, the food is bland and without flavor. They don’t have enough personal because the waiter forgot the dish of my daughter, not his fault, he was nice but was alone. And they send us to the last corner where we was burn by the sun because we were in company of our beautiful Shih Tzu (with diapers) and they weren’t allowed 🙁

First impression at the front desk was not good. Service was not warm nor welcoming, As well I was offered one rate by phone + front desk refused to honor the rate I was given on the telephone which is quite unprofessional and not cool. Room was fine .. no complaints there. The included breakfast was ok ... not more ... not less ... I'd recommend they teach the breakfast chef how to properly make oatmeal ... it was served so watery that it could be drunk with a straw.

Es un excelente hotel excelente ubicación solo el personal de parqueo y ciertos meseros de la jornada del desayuno son antipáticos y para nada serviciales y el hotel aún en vacaciones no tiene animación nocturna para los huéspedes que no desean salir de las instalaciones a las 10 de la noche ya tienen todo cerrado
