Phou Iu III Bungalows

I had a wonderful stay at this charming place! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms by the friendly and welcoming family that runs the place. The rooms are a delight – spacious, cozy, and adorned with a blend of bamboo hut style and modern comforts. The bed was big and very comfortable. It has a lovely balcony attached to my room. It became my go-to place for unwinding and soaking in the serene surroundings. The attention to detail in creating a space that combines local authenticity with comfort truly impressed me. And the wifi was surprisingly excellent! Even in this tranquil setting, I was able to stay connected without any hitches. I struggled in Laos to find acceptable WiFi in the places I stayed before. The true heart of this experience, however, was the food. The delicious local cuisine served here is very good. Sharing meals with the family felt like a beautiful cultural exchange. What made this stay truly special was the warmth of the staff and the family running the bungalow. Their genuine hospitality made me feel like more than just a guest – I felt like a part of their extended family. There were some minor drawbacks, which didn't bother much. The bathroom could have been bit nicer and there is a Karaoke place a bit further away which you can hear sometimes in the night. They are not playing music beyond a 11 pm in my experience and it didn't bother me a lot. I stayed much longer than I initially planned as I liked the place a lot. If you're looking for a unique getaway that blends comfort, authenticity, and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is a great choice.

We had such a good time here. The bungalows are simple but absolutely clean & well taken care. Quiet location. They also organize excellent excursions with perfect English speaking guide. I stayed before and after my trek in the Namtha region. The bungalows are close to town, clean and very spacious. The bed was very comfortable with a mosquito net. The shower was nice and hot. There is no AC but fan is provided. Kettle in the room with tea and coffee. My room had a nice little deck area to sit out. No TV in the room. The Wifi is free and quick. The breakfast is good - quite a few different options to choose from. The staff are very friendly and speak quite good English. They are trying very hard to get back on their feet after Covid. Willing to help with travel arrangements. Namtha is a small town so I got the impression that most people in the travel industry know each other. I would stay again and recommend for a comfortable stay. Only thing to note : perhaps bring earplugs as there is hotel/restaurant that plays music every night that can get a bit loud.

Clean place, good breakfast, the owner is working really hard to make everyone feel comfortable. She helped us book train tickets (which is no easy task in Laos) and she kept our luggage stored while we were jungle trekking. Very nice stay.

Nice place. The room was clean and the water was comfortably lukewarm. The owner is extremely helpful and service-minded. She solved our challenges with train tickets and luggage storage while trekking in the national park. The breakfast is really good!

Kind of waking up after the covid pandemic not everything is right in place again, but a very lovely retreat in town. Nice, big bungalows, great breakfast place. Most mentionable aspect: The incredible nice, helpful and caring owner Noi - she is really exceptional!

Nous avons séjourné une nuit dans cet hôtel, qui est bien situé, au calme du centre-ville mais tout proche. L’hôtel était propre, la chambre spacieuse. Le déjeuner très bon. Seul petit bémol difficile d’avoir de l’eau chaude pour la douche mais nous n’avons non plus pas demandé comment s’y prendre exactement; en cette chaleur l’eau tiède était plutôt de bonne augure. La patronne était extrêmement sympathique, souriante et serviable. Elle nous a proposé d’elle même de nous organiser le taxi et le train pour nous rendre à Luang Prabang à un prix imbattable (42 Dollars pour 2 personnes). Alors que nous attendions le taxi et qu’elle semblait manger avec sa famille à la table du restaurant elle nous a même proposé de se joindre à eux! Nous y retournerions plutôt deux fois qu’une!

Mi dispiace molto scrivere questa recensione, ma putroppo questa struttura è inqualificabile, le camere sono di una sporcizia inaudibile, ho trovato nel wc ancora gli escrementi dei precedenti clienti, lenzuola sporche, cuscini strappati vetri rotti, veramente inaccettabile! Inoltre il giardino circondante la camera era una fogna a cielo aperta spazzatura ovunque! Peccato perchè il posto sarebbe anche carino! Datevi una regolata perchè così non va!

Hôtel mais surtout organisation de trekking dans les villages des ethnies à proximité. Les guides sont très attentifs et très professionnels. C'est un vrai plus! L'hôtel en lui-même est correct et pourrait être bon avec un peu de travail d'entretien. Le service est très bon, la patronne est très à l'écoute. Mention spéciale pour les pancakes au petit déjeuner.
