Garner Hotel Macon West

Conveniently located off I-475 and near several restaurants and Kroger's. Front desk check-in friendly & efficient. Room very clean, bed comfortable, well-equipped with chair, large TV, refrigerator, microwave, desk, several USB ports, soap, shampoo, lotion, hair dyer, ironing. Checkout efficient, friendly - the rep went out of his way to provide us with black hot tea bags. Great price. Would have given them a 5 star except the included hot breakfast did not look appealing so we only had coffee & tea.

Loved it! Had to drive to eat dinner, not far tho. The shower could have had more (shampoo etc) available.

Hotel appeared to be understaffed. Room had a bad musty/ mildew smell. Breakfast was terrible. We were in town for a wedding. We knew we would be out late the night before so we were looking for a hotel that served breakfast until at least 9:30, That”s why we chose this hotel. We arrived for breakfast at 8:40am and there was nothing left, not even a coffee cup, Talked to the "manager" who informed us if we wanted breakfast we needed to be down before 8am. She refused to bring anything else out. It was obvious breakfast was put out at 7am and then not attended to until it was cleaned up at 9:30. Nobody working the breakfast area, tables were dirty. Definitely not up to health standards. When we were leaving for the day the manager said, "now you make sure to get down here tomorrow before 8 if you want breakfast!!" (in a very condescending tone ) This is not what you advertised! Management needs training. Definitely not the Marriott experience.

Our room was clean and comfortable, after initially being assigned a room that was not ready for guests. Wi-Fi was down during our stay - frustrating! And the breakfast was rather spartan/bland. Occupancy seemed light, so our room was quiet, and the area around the hotel seemed nice and safe, including a large grocery, a couple of local restaurants, a Subway and other amenities.

Nice room, comfy bed, good breakfast, nice looking pool though I didn’t get to use it, decent workout room, though it could use some TLC. I will stay here again

Mold in pool area !! Feces in sheets !!’ Please keep your family away from this disgusting place . I was shocked I called state of Georgia heath department in on mgr Yolanda!!’ She was pathetic and this place was about to be shut down !!’ What a terrible place unbelievable!!!

This is an older property that has not been well maintained. Lots of stains, patches, torn curtains, generally worn out. Exercise room was grim. Disappointing breakfast. Not what I expect from a Marriott property. On the positive side, the front desk clerk was very helpful, and kids seem to enjoy the pool. But traveling on I-75, you can probably do better.

This hotel was awful! My family checked in for a funeral the staff was cool. The checked my mom into a room with mold. The housekeeper came in to confirm the mold. They moved me to another room which had air that would not honor. The nice gentleman came in got on his knees to try to fix the issue and advise it was broken. They then moved us to room 117, which was perfect, except there was kids jumping around and stomping on my head the next 2days. I informed the front desk the lady spoke to people above me and it stopped about 10pm. Due to our family’s loss we chose not to deal with all the issues at that moment, as we were overtaken by our loss. We were told the managers name was Sonia and then Antonio, well Yolanda advised she was the general manager. Once we arrived home we contacted the GM Yolanda she advised that all her air units have been upgraded, never had mold complaints and pretty much made us feel like we were lying. She was passive aggressive, took no accountability and advised we had the option to leave. She kept going in circles and had a comeback for everything I said as if I was responsible for my bad experience. She said unfortunately when people check in to a hotel they take a chance on their experience and it’s not her or her hotel issues. We eventually ended the conversation with her because she said she could give compensation, but she was not sure what that looked like. Fortunately I knew to record the conversation from the begining, because she never even apologized at the hotel, so we knew what we were dealing with. Please don’t stay at this hotel if you can help it! It was our only option for our elderly family to be close to the funeral services. She kept mentioning she was a “Black GM running a hotel” her responses did nothing for her reputation. I don’t care what color you are. Respect and accountability is just that!

This hotel is old, worn and not really clean. The carpet at the entry to our room was very dirty. The hotel is noisy. We heard every conversation in the hallway, every door opening and slamming shut on our floor, and the upstairs toilets flushing. Highway noise is heard with windows and drapes closed. The check-in and breakfast were good, but check-out was a mess. We stayed on points, but the clerk INSISTED on charging our credit card for the room and taxes, and refused to call a supervisor, claiming that "the system" does the charges and is never wrong. We can fix this later, but resent having to spend the time on such a foolish mistake by an untrained clerk. We'll not ever stay here again despite traveling this route frequently. There are much better hotels available for the same and lower rates.
