Extended Stay America Suites - Phoenix - Mesa

I booked this because I needed a place to stay, fast. How bad could it be? Terrible. It's just gotten cold enough to need heat (and the blankets are like tissue paper). The heater smoked so much it set off the fire alarm. When I told the front desk the alarm had gone off (at 3am) she said "I'm not maintenance." Then my room smelled like smoke AND I was cold. They serve breakfast. Coffee, oatmeal. Nothing fancy at all. Fine. Oatmeal but no spoons. (The lady at the front desk found me a metal one, so thanks.) There were wires dangling from the hallway ceiling. No idea from what. (Image attached.) Hot water in the shower was more like "really really warm water". And the bathroom light wouldn't be bright enough to read by. Wi-fi was bad enough that when I tried to log in to work I was told it wasn't secure enough to accept the connection. So i steered clear of that. It kept a room over my head for the night but that was about it. Staff was nice.

Had to wait about 15minutes at the fromt desk before i could check-in because there was no one there, and at check there was still no one i just ended up leaving the key at the front desk.

Shower did not work, blaring music all throughout the night, and a roach in the bathroom sink in the morning. Was denied an extra pillow and blanket.

Liked the refrigerator/freezer size; property condition was decent, but not 5 star; cleanliness was fair, but the microwave had shredded cheese under the turntable; breakfast options were less than expected - coffee, muffins, & Nature Valley Bars were the choices. Also, you had to contact the front desk for any tableware or pans needed - kitchenette was not stocked.

Carpets were stained, filthy, and sticky feeling when walked on. The room smelled mildewed, the kitchenette was broken down, with tore up counters. The curtains wouldn’t close, and the tub wouldn’t drain, so we showered standing in dirty water.

Bad customer service from the morning girl in the front desk. Lack of maintenance in walk ways and rooms. Dirty carpets and saw a cochroach in the bathroom..also the bathtub knob would not close the water flow fully.we ended up fleeing out of there very quickly.

Loved the room the only slight issue was the shower didnt have a shower curtain.

The patio area is only open from 8am to 8 pm. No designated smoking area. Staff made me get off patio because I was out there by myself @ 9 pm told me to smoke in parking lot

The air conditioner in my room wasn't working properly and when I sat in the edge of the bed it almost flipped over. The bathroom sink gets getting clogged.
