Lovely property with friendly staff. Within walking distance of shops and restaurants in downtown Newport. The room was large and clean. We would recommend the Jailhouse Inn, and hope to come again.

Unique inn as it used to be a police/jail. Some of the bars are still there. Convenient to shops, restaurants and the wharf. Clean, comfortable bed, and the continental breakfast had a lot of variety.

A very fine bed & breakfast with a very unique history. The Inn was clean and comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offerings were just right before starting our day in beautiful Newport, RI.

Loved the history and character of the Jailhouse Inn. I was very comfortable and felt safe as someone traveling solo. Rooms were big . Many things were in easy walking distance.

Roomy, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. Carpet in room a little threadbare and found old bloody bandaid on carpet in room so wonder if room was vacuumed. Would recommend removing carpet as most places have replaced with vinyl flooring as is more sanitary. Interesting place

Church across the street, homeless hanging out in the doorways, others hanging out with them. Small park next door with homeless. I did not mind this but if I were elderly or a women, I may mind. Writing this review so people are informed and also knowing the inn has no control of this.

This is a beautiful hotel right in the center of everything with walkable distance to restaurants, shopping, marina.
Breakfast is good, there are always home baked cookies throughout the day, fruits, and coffee which is great. Water is also there free of change.
I will stay there again.
