Laru Beya Resort

Stayed here before and after a 10-day sailing trip. Large clean rooms, friendly staff, good restaurant, beautiful grounds. Reliable WiFi and A/C. Free Shuttle to airport or Moorings Marina across the street. Very accommodative and welcoming. Only thing that could be better? Food takes a little too long to come out.

Laru Beya was an awesome resort. We did the all-inclusive and were so glad we did. The food was delicious (fresh, new dessert every night) and local delicacies such as Fry Jacks and Journey cakes were yummy and new to us. Our 2-bedroom, 2 bathroom suite had a beautiful view of the ocean and a balcony protected from rain. Best of all, the staff was professional, friendly and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. AND, the resort is well-maintained. I have been to Costa Rica, Jamaica, St. Martin, and Mexico and Laru Beya, Belize is right up there at the top. If you choose to book a stay at Laru Beya, you will not be disappointed.

I can't imagine a better place to stay in Placencia. We stayed in September and everything was perfect. Our room, balcony, the pool and the beach were beautiful! The food was the best I've ever had at an all inclusive. We looked forward to every meal! Highly recommend the stuffed fry jacks for breakfast! The staff was also the kindest group of people. Shout out to Eddie, Maria, Tony, Jordy, Nelsy and all the staff at Laru Beya for making our stay AMAZING! The sea plane ride from Belize City to Placencia was one of the coolest experiences! We are scuba divers and the hotel arranged for a trip with Seahorse Divers. It was EPIC! I've never seen so many nurse sharks on one trip. They followed you everywhere and it was so cool! We also saw beautiful coral, hawksbill turtles, loggerhead turtles and lobster. The divemasters and boat crew were phenomenal. They set up all our gear for us in between dives. We will definitely be back to do more diving and we'll be staying at Laru Beya!

Laru Beya was absolutely amazing! My fiance and I decided to get married at the resort on the beach. First time to Belize. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff was AMAZING!! Everyone new you by name and they went out of their way to make us feel special. Food was excellent, service was first class, and the view of the ocean is spectacular! We would go again. Special place! Thank you for a memorable wedding/honeymoon/vacation!!!

My wife and chose this resort on spur of the moment. We had wanted to see Placencia and this was close. Vincent was waiting for us at the airport. While we checked in delivered bags to our room. The rest of the staff from Emory in the bar to Doni at the front desk were great. The pool was right there as was the beach. Food in restaurant was very good. The room while small was clean and well maintained. They have sister resorts that we will look at when we return to Belize. Layu Beya was very nice and would return.

My family and I decided to go to Placencia for a week and made the amazing choice of staying at the Laru Beya. The rooms are clean and beautiful and the staff is some of the best we have ever experienced. They take time to learn your name, they knew my wife's allergies and were wonderful with the kids. They truly made us feel like we were on vacation. The three tours we booked were through the front desk and Doni was extremely helpful in helping us prep for each excursion. We can't say enough about Jay, who took care of our 8 month old so we could go diving and snorkeling. We have never seen him so happy with someone. She treated him like he was her own family and make us feel safe and comfortable. The food was excellent. The chef's specials were amazing each and every day. We will definitely be coming back and cannot wait. Thank you again for taking such good care of all of us and thank you. The rooms were not only clean but beautifully furnished, providing a serene retreat after our daily adventures. However, what truly set Laru Beya apart was its exceptional staff. They weren't just attentive; they made the effort to remember our names, were fully aware of my wife's allergies, and showed incredible kindness towards our children. Their dedication elevated our vacation experience to new heights. Booking our tours through the front desk was a breeze, thanks to Doni. His guidance was invaluable, ensuring we were well-prepared for each excursion. A special thank you to Jay, who looked after our 8-month-old, allowing us time to enjoy diving and snorkeling. We were amazed by how quickly he warmed up to her. She made us feel completely at ease, treating our son as if he were her own. The culinary experience was another highlight. The chef's specials delighted us daily with their creativity and flavor. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit to Laru Beya. Stayed a week in late March, we were with friends, some of whom had been to Belize prior, but this was our first time. The resort was perfect, it was smaller than places we have typically stayed, but that is a good thing. The staff made you feel like you were the only ones there. They very much catered to you, all of them knowing all of our names. On arrival, we were greeted with a delicious refreshing cocktail and a cold towel for our face. They took the luggage right away to our rooms, and the Manager Mildred took us all around to show us where everything was. Once done, we went to our room that had a spectacular view from the balcony. The room was a 2 bedroom suite with a master bedroom and bath and then another room with 1 double and 1 twin bed. This room also had their own bathroom. The living room was spacious and the kitchen was the perfect size. All the glassware, silverware, plates, etc were there as well as a coffee maker and coffee so we could make coffee every morning. The drinks were delicious, make sure to ask Aaron to make you a 'dirty pinacolda'. A take on their traditional pinacolda with some caffeine from their home brewed vodka coffee! The food was amazing, and don't worry that there is only 3 meals a day and a snack time. You'll be plenty full, trust me! And don't forget to try the fish fingers and nachos! All the food, as well as their nightly dinner specials were amazing, we did not have one bad meal! This resort is literally right on the beach, you cannot get any closer to the water. The infinity pool overlooks the ocean, so while you are lounging in the pool, you get the sight and the sound of the ocean. Side note, our bed was extremally comfortable. Usually when staying at a hotel, it takes a day or two for you to get used to the beds. Not here, so comfortable, we slept amazingly. For any excursion you want, they will help you right at the front desk, and the best part about this, is that it's only you and any of the other guests from the resort. You are not taken somewhere and dumped off with 50 people you don't know. We did a snorkeling trip to Laughing Bird Caye on the barrier reef that was amazing! Saw some incredible ocean life including sting rays, nurse sharks and lemon sharks. Also, when you get your lunch, be sure to throw your chicken bones right into the ocean, this will bring the nurse sharks right to the shore as they will gobble them right up! We also did the monkey river tour, with Jeremy as our guide who is a native to Monkey village. Here we took a boat ride, about 40 minutes to the Monkey river where we saw crocodiles, snacks, bats, birds, etc. Once to the rain forest to see the Howler monkeys you take a little hike into the rain forest, and will see many families of them in the bamboo trees. Make sure to watch where you are walking however, watch for the leaf cutter ant trails, and the tarantulas lurking! I could keep writing, but I think you get the idea, we had a fantasti

The resort is small and intimate, perfect if you don’t like huge crowds like me. The staff was amazing, and made me feel like family. Vince was the star staff, his kind and generous heart was contagious, and he was an encyclopedia of knowledge.

Everything about our trip to Laru Beya was unbelievable! We celebrated our honeymoon here and couldn’t have chose a better landing spot. The resort is very intimate and private but with also lots of activities to choose from (which is exactly what we were looking for.) We took the golf carts to the main Village a couple times which was only about 15 minutes away. There is also a brewery 5 minutes away to watch the sunset that was really nice called Hobbs. The staff is simply amazing. They made you feel like you were apart of their family. Amelia, Eddie, Jessica, Emory, Jordy, Nelsie, Donnie, Vince, Mauricio, and Aaron.. thank you all so much for taking care of us while we were there. The culinary staff was incredible as well. No meal disappointed us and the options were abundant. Overall, one of the best, if not the best, resort we’ve ever stayed at. The staff, food, views, and tranquility were all top notch. We will be back, that’s for sure!
