It was like stepping back in time. The historical feeling of the building and surrounding area was fascinating. Expect an old building with dated fixtures and furnishings. This is not a Marriott or Hilton. Charming for being what it is. Will stay again.

The lobby is incredible with antique furnishings and stained glass windows. The room was styled in antique furniture and pictures. It’s lovely, however the floor was really slanted. The walls are thin so we heard people walking above us and people in the adjacent room showering. We were right next to the alley and heard commotion all night.

Wonderful stay because of the location. However, room Superior King Suite is advertised as sleeps 4. It sleeps two and you can request rollaway twin spring beds. Disappointing as it cramped the space as we had 3 adults and 1 kid... The only dampener on our 2 day get away.

The room was very nice. The separate bedroom was a nice feature. It also had a kitchenette with two burner stove. I wish it also included a microwave. The seating chairs were a little uncomfortable. The bed was nice and comfy.

Unique old time furnishings and ambiance. Size of rooms were great. No fault of facility, but bathrooms very small, but that is the way it was in the time period the hotel was built. Also very quiet.

I have stayed at a number of "historic hotels". That's just another way of saying old. It was clean, but extremely outdated, and not really in a quaint way. They have wifi, but basically no other services. They are centrally located downtown so many things are within walking distance. Parking is a short walk from the hotel, not in a private/secure lot.

A great old historic hotel right on main Street in Placerville. We were able to walk to several bars and restaurants and just leave our car in the parking lot. Had a great time. Will be back.

Pictures do not represent the rooms at all. Felt like I was locked in a gas station bathroom with a broken heater. Highly disappointed in the entire property. Heater was broken with zero staff available to provide help. Room had zero ambiance as was advertised. Tv's are mounted in awkward locations making them useless. No tables or place to set a drink. Shower has less than zero water pressure. Bed was rock hard with paper thin pillows. Broken window blinds just to add to the overall crusty appearance. Go to motel 6 and save yourself the disappointment.
