Elafos Hotel

We stayed in room 111 which has a balcony you could play sports on, the staff are great and for a 3 star hotel it is fantastic. The evening menu is limited but the hotel are happy to direct you to local restaurants. The bathrooms are better than most 4 & 5 star I have stayed in.

If you love old, Alpine ski hotels, you'll love this place! The place has an interesting history and is well preserved. The views are obviously gorgeous and there are interesting places to visit just up the hill or down the road. Coffee and desserts are wonderful, too.

My stay in Hotel Elafos and Elafina was not exactly as I imagined it. During my three day stay my room was not cleaned once, despite repeated requests. Also, I was scolded by the manager after I reported that the toilet had become clogged. He said I shouldn't have thrown toilet paper into the toilet. How I could have known this, was not clear, because this was not indicated anywhere. The manager even threatened me with a bill for unclogging the toilet, if he wouldn’t be able to do this himself. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels in Greece over the years, but I've never experienced anything like it. The hotel looks very nice from the outside and is situated in a splendid environment, but would benefit from some modernisation and a major refurbishment. To the most easily ac¬¬¬cessible rooms, one has to negotiate a steep staircase with more than thirty steps. The iron bedsteads have probably never been serviced since their installation in 1929. It all looks very tatty. The hotel appears to belong to a nearby village and it is unfortunately clear that the people who work there are untrained villagers, who had probably never seen the inside of a hotel before they arrived there. All in all, a stay at this hotel cannot be recommended. Hugo van Reijen

Se vi piace l’idea di essere in un posto speciale, al fresco della montagna e lontano dalle spiagge chiassose ed assolate, l’hotel Elafos è il posto giusto. Inaugurato nel 1929 ha ancora tutto il fascino dell’epoca al punto da aspettarsi il comparire di Agatha Crishie a colazione. Vista verso il mare spettacolare, bellissimo ambiente naturale attorno l’hotel è un eccellente punto di partenza per visitare il sud dell’isola. Le camere sono un po’ datate, ma pulite, alcune con bagni rifatti recentemente, altri un po’ vecchiotti ma con sanitari nuovi.

Adoriamo questo luogo perché è unico, Romantico, speciale. abbiamo alloggiato negli anni scorsi ed abbiamo passato dei momenti invernali unici, indimenticabili. Ma erano gestioni diverse.era un luogo vivo , pieno di gente, personale giovane, dinamico, professionale, desideroso di mettersi in gioco, che contribuiva a rendere speciale il luogo essendo tutti del circondario. Siamo passati di qui a primavera, una settimana prima della Pasqua ortodossa, volevamo prendere qualcosa al bar , ma pur non essendoci avventori l’unica persona in servizio era trafelata dal troppo lavoro. Abbiamo aspettato più del dovuto e poi siamo andati via mortificati e delusi. Siamo tornati ieri desiderosi di sorseggiare un buon bicchiere di vino. Abbiamo chiesto prima di sederci se era possibile avere due flûte di prosecco e vediamo fare bella mostra dietro il bancone alcune bottigliette di Gancia. Lo volevano servire caldo, ma hanno portato dei flûte pieni di ghiaccio. Lo abbiamo mandato indietro arrampicandoci sugli specchi per essere gentili. Quasi piangendo, enfatizzo, abbiamo chiesto se era possibile bere un bicchiere di vino qualunque. “Solo alla spina” la risposta. In Grecia, salvo rare eccezioni, ma non era questa, il vino alla spina è di pessima qualità perché lasciano il bag in box sotto il sole, a temperature assurde, senza alcuna rotazione, e non ultimo è il vino più economico in commercio. La responsabile, premurosa, è venuta al tavolo con fare professionale, ma ha solo ammesso che l’errore consisteva nel ghiaccio nel bicchiere, e che in tempi non sospetti avevano in catalogo anche il prosecco ma nessuno lo chiedeva. 14 euro due bicchieri di aceto lo scontrino. Posso immaginare a che prezzi vendevano il prosecco caldo. Qui mi sono alterato ed avrei voluto far notare alla responsabile , evidentemente piena di se è tutta compresa nel suo ruolo, che le toilettes erano in uno stato pietoso, indegne di di un luogo che vanta un catalogo tanto ricco. Manutenzione inesistente tanto che pezzi di legno del tetto sono pronti a cadere in terra. Ma se non lo ha capito da sola che il biglietto da visita di una attività non è il catalogo per quanto bislacco sia, ma le toilettes …sarei stato soltanto più deluso.

Das Hotel liegt mitten im Wald von Profitis Ilias, könnte aber vom Aussehen und der Umgebung her auch in den Alpen stehen. Wir haben hier leider nicht übernachtet, sondern waren nur auf Kaffee und Kuchen hier. Das Gebäude macht von innen und außen ein sehr gepflegten Eindruck. Der Barbereich scheint aus einer längst vergangenen Zeit zu stammen und ist sehr stimmig eigerichtet. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und der Kucken äußerst lecker. Die Preise sind eher im oberen Sektor angesiedelt. Das wird uns von einem Wiederkommen aber nicht abhalten.

Très bel édifice de 1929 conservé dans son époque. Un vrai bonheur de prendre un café sur sa terrasse. Nature tout autour comme un bijou caché. A visiter absolument ou y séjourner pour son calme et la beauté des paysage.

Nous pensions dormir dans cet hôtel une nuit. En regardant sur internet le prix était de 66 euro. Mais il était trop tard pour réserver car c'était le jour même. Nous nous sommes présentés directement à l'hôtel. L'accueil fût détestable, le prix était différent et bien plus cher. Nous avons dû rebrousser chemin et poursuivre notre recherche. C'est la première fois que cette expérience nous arrive en Grèce! Si vous souhaitez un accueil alors cherchez ailleurs !

Μπήκαμε στο （παγωμένο） δωμάτιο （για το οποίο είχε γίνει κράτηση και ήξεραν την ώρα προσέλευσης） και το θερμόμετρο έδειχνε 9,5 βαθμούς ! Ζητήσαμε από να μας φέρουν κάποιο θερμαντικό σώμα, όντως μας έδωσαν ένα και μετά από 2 ώρες έφτασε τους 13 βαθμούς! Είχε ηλεκτρικά υποστρώματα τα οποία δε λειτουργούσαν ή λειτουργούσαν απειροελάχιστα. Πέραν από το σαλονι που ήταν ζεστό, οι διάδρομοι και τα δωμάτια ήταν εντελώς παγωμένα. Γενικά φαινεται ότι δεν έχει γίνει η παραμικρή ανακαίνιση εδώ και χρόνια και ότι το κατάλυμα ζει από την αίγλη του. Θα συγχωρούσα πολλά και ούτε θα είχα υπερβολικές απαιτήσεις, αλλά η θέρμανση είναι τόσο βασική που ακόμη δεν μπορώ να πιστέψω το κρύο που ζήσαμε, οικογένεια με 2 μικρά παιδιά...
