Hampton Inn Taos

My kids love to swim in heated pools, as the one advertised here. Hot tubs also. Unfortunately, their pool heater was under repair and their hot tub taped off.

We’ve stayed here before and it wasn’t this bad before. A few things that made our stay unpleasant. The room smelled bad like sewer and was stale, there were plugs that didn’t work, the shelves falling off the wall in the bathroom, the bed sounded like it was going to break every time you got in and out of it, handle broken off on a drawer next to the bed. The bathroom door had no handle to get it open if you closed it all the way. There was no body wash in the shower (looked like there was a place for it). The indoor pool was ice cold and you had to walk in the snow to get to it. Luckily someone told us it was ice cold before we got in. The whirlpool was closed and fenced off. The breakfast was average and no gluten free options. We could only get 1 extra towel when we asked. There is a huge hole right outside the back door that was covered with a loose metal plate. This property is in desperate need of upgrades, the pool needs to have an enclosed entry directly from the hotel, not out in the cold.

Staff was great but no curtain on window so had to hang bed spread over window for privacy. Walls too thin, could hear neighbors on both sides while they were talking normally.

Our sink was clogged the entire 3-night stay. The water in the sink stunk, and the front desk staff kept giving excuses about why maintenance hadn’t shown up. The carpet was nasty dirty, our remote control didn’t work, and the pool and hot tub were closed the entire stay with no notice online or in the lobby. We couldn’t be moved because rooms were sold out, but no solution was offered to us for not being able to use the sink and for the bacteria that was making it stink, due to that sink being obviously clogged long before we ever got there. No solution was ever offered for us not being able to watch tv either. We couldn’t just leave because the whole town was sold out. There was never a manager onsite in three whole days according to front desk staff, but upon checkout, we were told the manager had left at 3:00 am and we could email him. We did email that same day, and as of today - 5 days later, he has not responded.

The hotel was fine, the staff helpful. Awkward window shade, hot tub not working and bed not comfortable but all in all it was a good stay

It was a last minute stay due to icy roads. Sink did not drain , room smelled, bathroom door is a sliding door - so weird. Room walls are so thin.

Check in was easy, parking wss easy, staff was frienldy, but, I left room late a for the day and no maid service for that day. Missed my morning coffee in my room the next morning.

Needs to improve cleaning ,breakfast was limited ,pool needs maintenance ,the hole place smells bad , tv was not fully funcional

I was booked for 2 queen bed..but they gave me one king size room..thete is communication glitch either at ******* or hotel side. Thx
