Not nearly as nice as the pictures online. Room was dirty, hadn’t been vacuumed. Cleanliness C-. Location and staff great.

I found the following to be pros for Hotel Capstone: great location (directly on campus), onsite restaurant & bar, attentive service, small UA gift shop, clean rooms & public areas. If these are important to you, then you'll enjoy this hotel. I found the following cons however, for what is billed as a premium hotel: Room was average size, room furnishings were older, mattress had a pronounced dip in the middle with noisy springs and badly in need of replacement, small pillows, small bathroom by today's standards, dimly lit room entrance, somewhat noisy air handler, and most of all, there was not a single item hanging on the wall that let you know you were at the University of Alabama. I understand there are renovations pending (not sure when), but in general, unless location and an onsite restaurant are most important to you, you probably would be more satisfied in booking some of the newer hotels in Tuscaloosa. I'll still give it a four star rating but with the other choices in the area, I probably won't return until it's renovated.

Stayed here four or five years ago. It has gone way downhill. Room felt dirty. AC filter was dirty. Shower handle was about to fall off. Door barely cleared the toilet. Paint was bad. Carpet was dirty. The room was dated and disappointing.

Terribly overpriced for value and hotel class. Maid service inconsistent. Removed soap everyday, but forgot to replace towels. Poor quality room and amenities. A real coffee maker preferred over Keurig. Ackward shower and bathroom arrangement.

Needed to stay for a family emergency. Arrived late, the desk clerk was extremely accommodating and helpful. Would have stayed longer but it was a game weekend and all the rooms were full.

The room’s AC was constantly on full blast, and it was loud. I tried to turn the thermostat up, but the AC would not cut off, even with the thermostat at 80. Luckily, I like it cold, but this was a little ridiculous. There was also a musty smell in the room. The bathroom has nowhere to place toiletries. All the lights in the room are the bluest LEDs you could imagine. Everything else seemed clean, and the staff were nice. But, the conditions did not justify the price.
