Under Canvas West Yellowstone

This was a great experience. Loved the Safari room accommodations. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I loved the set up of the Lobby and the outside patio with the fire pits. The restaurant had great choices for dinner and was excellent.

great experience, “tent” was spacious, very comfortable king size bed, awesome bathroom, best cappuccino, everything was perfect!!

A unique stay. Decided we’re not the roughing it types. May be. Better stay in warmer weather when you don’t have to use the wood stove. Everything smells like burning wood after sitting at the campfire and staying in our tent. Montana Jim did an excellent job of checking us in and explaining all the features. The best part for us was meeting people at the campfire at night. Music was also great. For people who love to camp this would be an excellent choice although a bit pricey.

Our receptionist was super nice and explained things well. It was dark when we arrived and we had a hard time finding the parking area as it is not lighted. Once we found it, we tried 3 different pathways to find out tent before we found the right one. Again, no lights. The signs are also not at the beginning of the trails, you have to walk 25-30 feet before you find a sign in the dark. Finding the bathroom tent in the dark was impossible. The tent itself was cute and cozy. The area around it was unkempt with ****s; basically a bunch of tents in a farmers field. Definitely not the charming experience I hoped for, considering the price.

Wonderful place to stay outside of West Yellowstone. They've thought of everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. My only suggestion is to make the introduction to the property a little more succinct. Im assuming that some of the clients struggle with turning the lantern on/off etc, but not everyone. Perhaps ask if the guests have camping experience? If not, then the whole speech will probably be helpful. Overall though, it was a really cool place to stay. I will stay again!

Interesting experience. But it is very cold in the night. Can’t sleep well, and you need some bravery to use restroom in the night😂

We found a tick in the kids teepee in the bedding. I killed it & staff said they'd change the bedding; not sure if they did or not as we were out & about at that time. Rachet straps were not tightly contained. ****s all around the tent & teepee. Not mowed around tents, teepees, & walkways. I understand not mowing the field and grazing grounds, but around tents & walkways would keep ticks at bay and make it appear better. Very little solar lighting, if at all, along the walkways. Most were broken. The dining tent was not set up at all. No food was served. The social area was not set up either. There was a makeshift area, but it was not at all like it should have been. I would have expected a discounted rate or refund of some sort due to the grounds were not kept up like in pictures & described on the website, dining was not open at all, and the social area was nonexistent. If this place expects to be a five star resort (camping, but resort all the same) then they have some SERIOUS WORK to do at this particular location. I realize this particular location & area had a late winter and that hindered getting everything set up, but then owners/managers should have reached out & let guests know before hand so they could cancel & find another place, OR OFFER A DISCOUNT for the major inconveniences. I would give this another try at another location because it's a GREAT IDEA ... but it didn't live up to the hype.

We loved our stay! Such a unique experience and I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting the area :) we will definitely stay again!

This is a cute canvas tent set up in a beautiful location. An overpriced setup for basically a bed in a canvas tent. There are few if any amenities. Staff was super friendly but requests took hours to complete or never got done and we had to frequent the lobby tent.
