Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar

We were warmly greeted by the staff at the entrance. I had booked a deluxe room and had arrived early, would have appreciated an early checkin but the room wasn’t ready so meanwhile I explored the resort amenities. It has a private beach with a mini golf area and a bar alongside. The staff is friendly but most of the staff is new, a bit slow but they get you what you need. Maybe that’s how they’re wired, I’m unsure but they were kind. Pictures don’t do enough justice to this property. It’s massive, beautiful interiors with high end quality products. Loved the spa, felt so rejuvenated and I loved their bathing product line, the shower gels, etc. It’s ace quality. Food was good. They had live performance that got everyone on flood. It’s one of the best properties I’ve stayed at.

Simply perfect, amazing views and the band was amazing, horse riding at the beach! Great staff too, Alex was amazing!

Best resort in Zanzibar that gives you 5 star treatment ! Absolutely loved their service & warm welcome. Stuff is super nice & kind. If you need any assistance they are kind enough to help you. Their breakfast & dinner buffet is amazing! There’s always music playing + a live band. So many activities to enjoy at the resort. I will choose Sea Cliff resort again!

Très belle expérience très beau lieu le service était irréprochable, une chambre au top, aune nourriture très variée. Je vous recommande Rajab c’est l’un des réceptionniste il nous a recommandé pleins de beaux lieux.

The hotel is beautiful, always very clean, well decorated, very relaxing. The food is really good. Having a drink, watching the sunset from the amazing swimming pool is spectacular! The best is the people: they make you feel you are special

The resort is well placed in Mangapwani and not too far from Stone Town. It is beautifully laid out over 5 Units named A to E. The resort boasts a golf course( did not experience) a wonderful squash court and plenty of activities for children. The private beach is in walking distance and there are carts for transportation too. If you do not fancy the sea(!!!) a full sized swimming pool caters of young and old. The team is well trained and drilled and always have a greeting with a smile. The rooms are well laid out and comfortable. The rooms are cleaned every day and anti mosquito spray is undertaken in the evenings with the laying of the mosquito nets. The dinners are themed for different nights and entertainment is provided. Unfortunately our initial experience was marred by our reception (being advised we had not paid when we had a clear document that all had been paid for - the blame was an administrative error!) and the room allocation. This room issue was somewhat rectified the following day but was not ideal. We did not want our short visit to be wasted and accepted what was proffered. So if you want to have a good view of the ocean and the sun set, you need to be in Blocks A and B on the upper level and ensure that you have an Ocean View Room. The food at the restaurant (Mangapwani Restaurant) for dinner was great. Plenty of choices and if you have a sweet tooth you are well cared for! However, try to be early. On two occassions our choicest dishes had run out and we were not even half way through service. This speaks volumes for the quality of the dishes!! At the beach some services are free and if you can book yourself for a catamarn trip. This made up for the disappointments to a degree! The gentleman was a true gentleman. I think it was Mustafa at the squash court who showed us around and organised for us to have a game of table tennis. A shuttle service to Stone Town is very welcome and the drop off is close to Forodhani. A great walk. There is a jetty from the resort to the ocean. A wonderful walk in the evening and very refreshing. Do not be surprised to find a security guard! Our departure day was again marred by an administrative error. A charge was included for the tourist tax. Once again having explained that this had been settled in advance and on checking this was removed. To misquote Wilde one mistake is a disaster but two is sheer carelessness. Overall we would recommend the resort and would certainly stay again. This resort is an absolute dream. From the beautiful surroundings to the wonderful staff and the delicious food, I only have good things to say about this place but if I had to find a negative, it would only be that we had to leave. The pools are pristine, the beach peaceful and unique and each member of staff made my husband, son and I feel like family. Every single person went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect stay and I want to give a special thank you to Alex, Cosmas and Rose - our time at Sea Cliff wouldn’t have been as memorable without their kindness, attention to detail and true love for their job, the resort and its guests. We can’t wait to go back to a place that now feels like home with people that feel like friends and family. We won’t consider any other resort on the island.
