Sometimes it sounded like someone was inside my room. It was not noisy but some sounds sounded closer than they really were. Bed needs a new mattress. Lots of missing channels on tv that are usually standard on most tvs.

What a beautiful hotel. Nicely restored historic school with original floors, high ceilings, comfortable beds, and clean rooms. I look forward to staying here again!

The property was amazing and the staff was so nice and accommodating. We didn't arrive until super late at night and the gentleman working the desk was so helpful. ******* has the room descriptions completely incorrect for this hotel and he tried to accommodate my family as best he could. The staff the next morning was also very accommodating and helpful with the situation. Hands down I would certainly stay at the Blackstone again if I was ever in the area again.
My suggestion to ******* would be to update the room descriptions as sent to you by the hotel. As I booked a Premium Room because your description listed there being a pull out double sofa and this room does not have that. I spent extra money to have the sofa bed and had I known this wasn't an option I would not have purchased the more expensive room. Thankfully the hotel staff was very very understanding, apologetic and helpful. I explained the situation and told them the price of the other room that I would have purchased had this one not listed the sofa bed and they updated the cost of what I paid in their system. Now I just wait for ******* to refund me the difference, which I hope is soon as my stay was a week ago today.

Blackstone Inn is far and above superior to any lodging establishment (other than b&b for example) in the entire area from South Hill to Crewe, Va. You pay more but the conditions, guests in rooms next to yours, and polite staff are in line with the costs.

We discovered this place on-line, it is an absolute gem! Interesting history to the place, pristine accommodations! The fire pit with blankets provided was a real treat!

This is a beautifully renovated building. The room had cavernous ceilings. I loved the large window that overlooked the lawn and magnificent oak trees. The staff was attentive and the breakfast very nice and plentiful. The parking was close to the entrance, the rooms quiet (solid walls), and great sleeping to be had. I will be back. Wish I had had more time to explore Blackstone.
