I really enjoyed the hotel. The staff are very nice and welcoming. The manager named Ameen is a very nice man. The 2 ladies at the kitchen are very very friendly. The workers in general made me love my stay there. I highly recommend it

Affordable Maldives with lots of great experiences! Ameen is really very handy, he puts his heart into it and nothing is a problem for him. He is almost always online and willing to arrange everything. Be sure to take part in the program, especially the trips to the uninhabited island which also belongs to Ameen. Very suitable for solo female travellers, everything is safe and you will meet new people.

This is my second time coming back here! And I plan to come back here again! Everything here is like in a fairy tale - a perfectly warm welcome, modern room design, very tasty and varied food. Surf spots are found nearby, transfers are organized in the morning and afternoon, and you can rent a board. There is all the equipment for snorkeling, and the underwater world there is simply incredible. Many thanks to the owner - Amin, he will always help with any issue, thanks to the staff - everything is at the highest level. I highly recommend this place!

We were first time on this place (and we can say, not last time) and it was absolutely amazing experience. Hotel is located on local island, where you can feel local culture and meet local people, which are very friendly. In hotel itself you can meet interesting people, guests, that are here for surfing, exploring underwater life or just relaxing, or have honeymoon like we had 😊. The hotel itself was very clean and well maintained. Daily cleaning of room. Room was very nice and cosy. If you book suit rooms (two in hotel), you get equipped flat. About food - you can have full board with bufet possibility or/and you can order from hotel menu which serves western dishes (sandwiches, burgers,…). We had full board, but tried also from menu and everything was very tasty. On hotel’s roof is great place where to relax under open sky. We enjoyed everything. Next to hotel is lounge, where you can relax, play airhockey, billiard, ping-pong or rent a free bikes. Hotel stuff was amazing and very helpfull. Special thanks belongs to Ameen, owner of hotel and organizer of trips and your happiness. He does the very best for guests and is ready to help you with everything. What is important, he arranges travel from/to Male airport which suits the best to your arrival/departure time (local flight or mix of local flight and boat). Trips – you have many possibilities – small deserted island for all day with barbeque, snorkling inside atol or outside atol, ship wreck explore, dolphin trip, surfing, canoe… If you have luck, whale shark can localy appear and then you have possibility for trip (unfotunatelly, we did not have luck, but next time i belive we will).

I stayed at Stay Mikado for 7 nights and have observed the followings: Stay Mikado is actually a boutique hotel meaning the entire building is very new and in a well-constructed and maintained condition and the rooms are very, very clean. The rooms are cleaned every single day. The water pressure and temperature of the shower and sink are up to the standard we would expect in a high-end hotel. Shampoo, shower gel, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, and a safe are in the room. The towels are in three different sizes and are of good quality. There are rooms with a TV, washing machine, kitchen, and balconies so an entire family can stay there without any issues for a long time. All rooms are air-conditioned and they function without any issues and are very efficient. There is also a fitness room, a business meeting room as well as a rooftop yoga place. You can take your breakfast/lunch/dinner in the restaurant in the basement or on the rooftop which has a great view. The staff is super-friendly, always on time, very helpful and very positive attitude people. I booked a full board, so had the opportunity to try breakfast/lunch/dinner. The food is really awesome and the menu card is quite impressive (has Western/Asian and local Maldivian dishes) from which you can choose anything at any time. They have three chefs each has his/her own specialties such as Western food chef, chef for Asian food, etc.) You can also ask for food that is not on the menu card, no issue. Water (bottled ones) and coffee are included in the package, so free of charge. Various kinds of fresh juices (orange and mango are my favorites) are available as well for a charge of around 60 MVR. Due to its central location, everything (grocery store, coffee places and barbershop) is at your fingertip. Stay Mikado is affiliated with the water sports center at Thimarafushi where you can book various kinds of water activities such as jet skiing, wakeboarding, fishing, SUP, kayaking, surfing, diving, and snorkeling, kayaking and island-hopping trips. The prices are very reasonable and are actually below the prices around the Male area and far below the resort prices (at least diving is 3 times cheaper than at a resort price). A great spot for surfing and if you are a beginner either you bring your own surfboard or ask Stay Mikado to organize a beginner surfboard for you before arriving at the hotel as all the surfboards are for advanced and pro surfers only. Check-in and check-out at the hotel are very efficient and if your return flight is in the late evening (this will be the case as the flights are usually around 10 pm) Stay Mikado lets you stay in the room until you head out to the airport. You will get a welcome drink at your arrival. The staff will do your check-in at the airport including the luggage so you don't have to go to the airport early. My husband and I stayed at the Stay Mikado hotel in February 2024. It was an experience of a lifetime! First of all, I want to express my deep gratitude to the hotel team and Ameen, its owner. I have rarely seen such a sincere and honest attitude towards guests. We felt like we were on vacation even before we arrived in the Maldives, because Ameen arranged for us to meet us at the airport in advance, a comfortable transfer, and sent us a program of excursions for the period of our hotel stay. When we arrived in the Maldives, we didn’t think about anything. We just relaxed. Because the Stay Mikado team did everything for us. It was very professional! We traveled from Male to Thimarafushi Island by speedboat. There were breathtaking views all around. We flew back from Thimarafushi to Male by plane. Ameen himself booked our tickets. The view of the islands from above from the plane is incredible! Now about the hotel itself. Stay Mikado is located on a local island. The hotel is very different from other buildings on the island because it looks very modern. The hotel has a restaurant, gym, spa, roof terrace. The hotel also offers free bicycles and snorkeling and surfing equipment. The hotel rooms are stylish, modern and very clean. They have everything you need! A large and soft bed, a spacious wardrobe, bedside tables, a desk, a bathroom, a balcony, air conditioning, a hairdryer, a TV and much more. The hotel provides three meals a day. Very tasty, varied and filling! This kind of food is not available in any other hotel. Because I read a lot of reviews about hotels on local islands, the food there is very bad. Stay Mikado serves European cuisine. You can also order whatever you want separately from the menu: pizza, burgers, salads, soups, desserts. I would also like to say something about excursions. We went on night fishing, on Mikado Island, on a private island, snorkeling, surfing. We were absolutely delighted! All excursions are organized at the highest level! The islands around Thimarafushi are incredibly beautiful. There you can see untouched nature, snow-white beaches, palm trees. Ameen constantly asks his guests whether they like everything and whether everything is okay. He is always in touch via WhatsApp. Ameen is also a professional photographer and videographer. We stayed at this hotel from 13.01-25.01. We were in the Maldives for the first time. The transfer is organized at the highest level in both directions. The hotel is new, the rooms are stylish. The hotel has a play area for adults and children. There is a daily free shuttle service to the beach and back, if desired, you can ride free bicycles to the beach. The hotel staff is very helpful, the room is cleaned daily. Luxury excursions are organized daily from the hotel at a very pleasant cost. We were delighted with our vacation! This is an amazing combination of secluded nature, excellent service, comfortable rooms and an unspoilt underwater world (which you can enjoy even on the beach, taking a diving mask with you). We swam with turtles, drank coconuts and disconnected from the outside world as much as possible. I would like to write a special thanks to Ameen - he was always in touch, answered all questions and helped in every possible way to make the rest as comfortable as possible for us.
